At Lili Waste, we believe heroes don’t always wear capes—sometimes, they drive our trade waste collection trucks!
Yesterday morning, during his regular Waste Recycling round on Four Oaks Road, Paddock Wood, our driver Alex proved just that.
Alex spotted a limping, distressed dog struggling to make its way down the road. Acting without hesitation, he and his colleague Tom pulled over their commercial waste vehicle to assist. Alex carefully picked up the injured dog, ensuring it was safe and comfortable in the cab before driving straight to the nearest veterinary clinic near Tonbridge.
Thanks to their swift actions, the vets quickly treated the dog called Buddy for minor injuries. A scan of Buddy’s microchip revealed he had a loving family who had been desperately searching for him. By the end of the day, Buddy was safely reunited with his overjoyed owners.
Alex didn’t let this detour slow him down. After ensuring Buddy was safe and sound, he returned to his recycling route with Tom, ensuring all our customers’ wheelie bins were collected as planned.
At Lili Waste, we’re incredibly proud to have refuse collection operatives like Alex and Tom who go above and beyond, whether it’s serving our customers or lending a hand (or paw) to those in need.
